JOB DESCRIPTION

Your Opportunity:Looking for inspired nurses with experience in trauma informed, harm reduction care to work in a 6 bed complex medical detox unit.
Reporting to the Manager of Site Specialty Services for Addiction & Mental Health at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, the nurse is required to complete assessments, interventions, documentation and plan the care for patients with complex medical needs compromised by detoxification.
Must have excellent assessment, documentation, organization, communication and team work skills.
Must be experienced in medical nursing with a preference given to candidates who possess addiction and mental health experience as well.
Must be an independent thinker with proven ability to problem solve and think critically within an interdisciplinary team environment.
Provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
Consistently provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way.
Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education.
Candidates are required to have a substantial understanding of addiction and recovery principles, in addition to an understanding of the harm reduction working with complex medical patients.
