Job TitleSenior Mechanical DesignerJob SummaryThe Senior Mechanical Designer is an integral part of the Design Support Team.  The candidate will complete 3D modeling, drafting, standard creation and project coordination duties as directed by Management.  This position will focus on the technical completion of design and cross-departmental projects ensuring that the multi-disciplinary teams required to achieve a business outcome complete each of their responsibilities before the project close out is accepted. A Senior Mechanical Designer also acts as a subject matter expert (SME)/mentor for developing team members on mechanical design and project management aspects. Compensation$79,800-$99,800Benefits• Remote work• Annual Bonus 10%• Defined contribution pension plan 4%• 3 weeks’ vacation (15 days)• 3 days of illness• Medical services• Dental benefits• Vision care• Wellness Program• Referral Bonus Program ($1,500 CAD) Function & Responsibilities• Create technical designs and documentation to support manufacturing and engineering• Creating technical sales drawings for custom tanks (occasionally)• Work with and interpret the handful of regulatory standards that our tank and component designs    need to meet• Support and lead product development initiatives• Lead cross-functional continuous improvement and strategic projects, around component design, testing and manufacturing• Lead internal team CI and design efficiency initiatives Proficient in Solidworks, AutoCAD, DriveWorks, (VBA, Visual Basic.NET and C#.NET) & MS office Designing custom solutions to mechanical problems, machine components, structural fabrications, and machine layouts Mentor developing members of the team. Act as an SME to support mechanical design needs of equipment for production, product engineering testing and field installation needs. Dealing with suppliers to ensure the best quality, price, and delivery for goods and services. Acting as a liaison between capital engineering and our clients to ensure the proper installation. Mentor the developing members of the team  Knowledge and Skills:• 5-10 years’ experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, DriveWorks, (VBA, Visual Basic.NET and C#.NET) & MS office.• Mechanical aptitude.• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.• Work under minimal supervision.• Teamwork• Ability to work under stressful condition.• Strong communication skills.• Composites and manufacturing experience is an asset.• Community College Diploma (Engineering Technician)
