Typical duties may include, but are not limited to: · Writing/editing services required for the “Internet Revitalization Project” to achieve compliance with the new TBS Web Usability Standard and to create a relevant, useful, and efficient Web presence. Those services include: · Content review for potential optimization and/or elimination. · Content review to improve the readability and to conform to the departmental Web content style guide. · Creation of new content. · Rewriting and editing of existing content to meet the new departmental Web content style guidelines, to fit the new site structure and to ensure that the readability of the content is appropriate for the intended audience. Other elements to consider in writing or editing Web content: o Communications objectives o Strategic considerations o Legal/privacy implications o Target audience o Project requirements and considerations (e.g. project deliverables and scope, budget, evaluation and monitoring) · Writing of new content where gaps exist to fit the new site structure; · Creating mock-ups to facilitate collaboration with content subject matter experts as required for clarification of content; · Seeking input from Web Communications Advisors for proposed placement and layout of revised content; · Final editing of Web sections for review by E-Communications management and approval by the content subject matter experts; · Coordination of requests for translation of content with the Translation & Revision Services team; · Coordination of requests for coding of content with the Web Development Services team; · Participation in meetings/briefing sessions with government officials as required Mandatory Qualifications: Education: Must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in: Creating new material (publications, manuals, user guides, newsletters, or web content) or analyzing source material and re-writing/editing it in a concise effective manner; Meeting and communicating with stakeholders to obtain and implement requirements ; adhering to Web publishing guidelines or standards; Meeting with management to gain consensus. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in: Writing new content for the Web; o Editing existing content for the Web; o Developing content layout for the web page; o Compliance to the governmental Web-related policies and standards; o Meetings with stakeholders.
