Job Description
Our government client is currently seeking a qualified candidate for an Research Clerk position:
Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
· Providing technical, research and administrative support to a team of analysts;
· Inputting, processing and updating data in a Microsoft ACCESS database;
· Performing file and information management functions (hard copy and electronic format);
· Preparing reports and other material;
· Tracking progress of projects and tasks;
· Researching security issues in international affairs;
· Collecting, analyzing and reporting on data;
· Various other operational support and processing tasks as required.
Education:
· Successful completion of secondary school.
· Successful completion of a degree in International Relations, Security Studies or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution;
· Successful completion of a graduate degree in International Relations, Security Studies or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution;
· Greater than 6 months experience on a part-time or full-time basis being a regular (multiple weekly uses) and advanced (creating and running queries, dealing with the interoperation of Access and other Office products, and troubleshooting related technical issues) user of Microsoft Access.
Experience:
· A minimum of 6 months experience working for DFAIT on a part-time or full-time basis
· A minimum of 6 months experience working on a part-time or full-time basis in the field of international security and intelligence
· A minimum of 6 months experience on a part-time or full-time basis being a regular (multiple weekly uses) and advanced (creating and running queries, dealing with the interoperation of ACCESS and other Office products, and troubleshooting related technical issues) user of Microsoft ACCESS;
· A minimum of 6 months experience on a part-time or full-time basis using standard office equipment and software (Windows XP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, etc.) in an office environment
· A minimum of 6 months experience on a part-time or full-time basis researching security issues in international affairs;
· A minimum of 6 months experience on a part-time or full-time basis collecting, analyzing and reporting on data.
