Machine Operator - Alberta

Job Summary:

We are seeking energetic and self-motivated Machine Operator Group Leads (all shifts) to join our start-up team for a new process in our Thermal Media operations. Working under minimal supervision in this fast-paced environment, the Machine Operator Group Leads will lead a team of operators and perform a broad range of complex activities in the operation of high-speed processing machines and chemical-processing equipment, including troubleshooting production issues.

Responsibilities include:

? Start, stop and feed the machine, and identify and report imperfect operations.

? Perform complex product change over activities. Set up processing machines to product specifications. Monitor product quality and test machine operations, collaborate with quality control to test output and make equipment adjustments to produce product that meets quality requirements.

? Troubleshoot processing machine issues and product defects. Identify root cause and implement corrective action by making machine adjustments or referring more complex issues to supervisor.

? Weigh, measure, check and combine raw materials following specified formulas and methods. Adjust product mix in response to quality test results.

? Assist engineers with experiments, process development and/or technical problem solving.

? Operate and monitor machines to participate in the testing and implementation of new products and manufacturing processes into production.

? Prepare check sheets, logs, reports and other paperwork. Report production statistics and/or product issues and resolution to supervisor.

? Train new employees and aid employees with question regarding work standards.

? Assist supervisor in maintaining production and work schedules. Assign work and provide work direction to ensure adherence to daily production requirements.

Qualified candidates will possess:

? High school diploma or GED required.

? Minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience operating production process machines required. Experience leading and training others preferred.

? Must be available for overtime work and/or working on a holiday. Must be able to accommodate changes in schedule and shifts to meet production requirements.

? Must have ability to solve moderately complex product problems.

? Compounding/mixing formulation experience preferred.

? Basic math and mechanical skills required.

? Basic knowledge of ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 requirements preferred.
