Our client is a large, diversified and integrated forest products company which stands as the global leader in sustainable forest management practices. The company operates over 30 pulp, paper, and wood product manufacturing units. With operations in North America, China, Korea, and Japan, the Company employs approximately 8,000 people.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation and modification of all sawmill-related equipment to maximize uptime, quality and production. Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: $34.16/hour
Anticipated wage increase July 1, 2013

Shifts: 5 x 8’s - graveyard and swing shift (production), 4 x 10’s - Mon to Thurs, 3 x 12’s - Fri to Sun (New employees start with graveyard shift, shift selection based on seniority)

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Experience: Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with PLC’s and variable frequency drives. Troubleshooting ability and computer literacy also required along with experience working in a heavy industrial setting. Applicants must be highly motivated, team oriented, and safety conscious.

Education: BC or inter-provincial Electrical trade certification

Requirements:
-The ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
-A strong background in programming PLC’s.
-Strong trouble shooting skills.
-Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process would be an asset.
-Good interpersonal and communication skills.
